Who Are “The Girls?”

Hello everyone! So glad you decided to join us for a look-see. Our hope is that we can serve to encourage you — and even make you laugh — as we share what has been an ongoing 30 year journey with our Beloved Jesus  and a small group of dear friends. We fondly refer to ourselves as “The Girls.”

So to begin – we had been “dumped” by men who formerly loved us. Yes, that would be our husbands! Perhaps something like that has happened to you,  too? We sure hope not. But, trust us, if you are in the midst of rejection right now, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Would you believe it that most of us can say that we wouldn’t trade this adventure for anything? This is where God trained us. This is how we discovered His faithfulness and His great love!

Yes, brokenhearted, confused and inconsolable – somehow the ships of our souls got turned from a sea of negative thoughts, emotions and bad decisions toward the safe harbor of the true lover of our souls — our Almighty Lord and Savior — our precious Abba Father and Holy Spirit.

We individually sought Him for counsel, love, strength and anything He was handing out that day.  Then, we met each other through a number of circumstances. And, within months, He led us to, overall, maybe a dozen other  “victims”  (and eventually lots more) which He conscripted into part of His end-time warring sheep army.

We cannot say that everyone had their marriage and family completely restored (that is, not yet), but very many did. Makes no difference. Over the years we all have had the greatest journey we could have imagined – the kind where you are in His Presence. We felt His love, learned how to stand on His Word and we discovered the joy in sharing all He had given to us with others. We have even had the occasional privilege of imparting His loving wisdom to those who didn’t even like us!  “..freely you have received, freely give.” Mathew 10:8b KJV (Walking in unconditional love sure gets the enemy aggravated!)

Right now we are writing a book with lots more about what we have learned, and how we made messes that God helped us clean up, plus we will tell you so many inspiring stories of victories!  We will even tell you happenings that some people may call defeats. It is going to be real.

We are not sure how long completing the book will take so, in the meantime, we will be sharing some excerpts right here for you on Good News ROC.  One thing we got down, pretty early in the game, is to always focus on Him. We are ” the redeemed of the Lord and we say so!” Psalm 107:2 KJV

Choose joy and keep looking up- – He’s almost here!

Love from …

I was priviledged to be acquainted with The Girls for a period of time. My husband did not leave me, but for a time, he left Jesus, and the many problems that were brought into the marriage were escalating to the point that it looked like divorce was on the horizon, I was brought into the fold by two precious friends who taught me how to stand for the restoration of my marriage, and to pray my husband back to Jesus.

The intensity of these ladies in their prayers and faith was refreshing and gave me hope. They welcomed me into their fold and the support of these sisters in Christ was an anchor to me in my own troubled sea of matrimony. For months I prayed with the ladies, and made several life long friends. Then after an very intense week of praying and discussions with my husband, I threw the fate of our marriage into the Lord’s hands, and waited… After a few days of silent prayer and refraining from preaching to him (it was hard to keep my mouth shut, but I had to let the Lord work on him) he came to me, and told me that because I quoted a scripture verse about the person of Christ (John 14:6) the Holy Spirit spoke and confirmed the verse, and he knew it was the Lord speaking to his heart. My wayward husband rededicated his life to Christ and came home.

The Lord indeed worked a miracle in our marriage and from then on, it was what I had hoped and dreamed it could be. Because of Jesus. We found our way back to church and began our Christian marriage in earnest and never looked back. His faith had grown and his personality changed so much for the better… He was a man of God now and it showed. For over 20 years this husband of mine was a testimony to the life changing power of Jesus Christ… My beloved husband is now in heaven, since 2016… I miss him very much, but know someday we will be reunited and the pain of losing him and my many tears will be washed away by the hand of our Savior. The Lord had the Girls there for me when I needed them. To God be the glory….
